This course, in its entirety, concerns the SYSTEM interpretation and modelling of relatively complex, linear circuits.

At the core of its first part (EE1C1) is the calculation of voltages and currents in circuits consisting of current and voltage sources, resistances, inductances and capacitances. The basic components and the different analysis methods for direct current (DC) are firstly introduced. The operation of capacitances and inductances will be then explained. Combining circuit analysis methods with the behaviour of inductances and capacitances will form the basis for studying first- and second-order circuits.


The course will continue in its second part (EE1C2) when the acquired knowledge and skills will be applied to examining circuits operating under steady-state alternating current (AC) conditions and more elaborate transient conditions.


The EE1C1 part also contains a CourseLab during which the concepts introduced and tested during the lectures and the seminars will receive a physical demonstration. During these CourseLabs, you will develop skills in assembling electronic circuits and using standard laboratory (testing) equipment. The lab sessions will be prepared during some sessions in which practical linear circuits problem will be discussed and their impact on the ensuing lab classes will be stressed.
