Analyse van Energie, Materialen en Water Kringlopen in de Lineaire en Circulaire Economie
Beschrijving
To properly understand the transition from a linear to a circular economy, it is necessary that the current linear model in which raw materials are used and discarded is well understood. LCA and energy analysis are useful tools that have been developed to map the sustainability of different processes in society. The analysis will show that throwing away products makes it virtually impossible to set up a sustainable society. Just like in nature, we will therefore have to extract all useful elements from waste products in order to be sustainable, for example by directly reusing the entire product or recycling components. This means that we must work towards a circular economic model in which waste must be valued as a new raw material. To achieve this transition, interventions must be made to reuse the substances. A case in form of an autonomous system will be worked out in which both required amounts of water, materials and energy and environmental performance of the system will be quantified.
