Bend and Break Asfalt

The CT3295-25 Minor Bend and Break Asphalt course will address the following topics:

• Review of the role and function of asphalt concrete pavements, the most commonly used pavement type in the Netherlands.

• Theory of pavement design and pavement materials.

• Mix design and preparation of asphalt samples.

• Stiffness measurements using 4-point-bending test and ultra sonic measurements.

• Utilization of computational pavement analysis software for determination of pavement response.

Group report and written final exam.

Final grade is based 70% on the group report and 30% on the written exam. The minimum grade for both assessment parts is 5.75.
