Climate Engineering
Beschrijving
This course provides an introduction to climate interventions. The two main principles, radiation management and carbon dioxide removal, will be discussed, with a focus on radiation management concepts such as stratospheric aerosol injection and marine cloud brightening. Attention will be given to the impact of the climate interventions on the global and local living environment, e.g., by running and interpreting emulator simulations. We will also discuss ethical dilemmas and governance structures that are needed.

Written open book exam (e.g., essay writing), focus on analysis and interpretation.
Group assignments, focus on integration perspectives
Group assignments (70%), written exam (30%), minimum grade: 5.8; active participation in class (pass/fail)
