Geometric Data Processing
Beschrijving
Geometric data processing is concerned with the representation, analysis, manipulation, and optimization of digital shapes. Thanks to the advances in 3D acquisition and manufacturing technologies (like 3D-Scanning and 3D-printing), the usage of geometric data is continuously increasing and an efficient processing of digital shapes plays an important role for a variety of applications in areas such as computer graphics, computer-aided design and engineering, medical imaging and surgery planning, architecture, and entertainment. In this course, we will study concepts and algorithms for creating, analyzing, editing and optimizing digital geometric shapes.
Toetsing
The final grade of the course consists of the following components:
Group Assignments: practical projects (weighting 40%)
Digital Exam: theoretical assignment (weighting 60%)
Final grade calculation = 0.4 * Group Assignment + 0.6 * Digital Exam
A passing final grade for the course can only be earned when for all components at least a 5.0 is earned, and the weighted final grade is at least a 5.8.
In case of an insufficient final result, repair options may exist in accordance with Article 17A, Times and number of examinations, sub 1, of the Teaching and Examination Regulations, for:
Group Assignment: Repair opportunity
Digital Exam: Repair opportunity
Disclaimer: information may change depending on unforeseen circumstances or measures (see: TER Art 2, sub 5).
