Research and Development Methods for CME
Beschrijving
This research methodology course is intended for all CME students. The course will cover a variety of topics, such as:
problem identification;
distinction between research and development projects and processes;
defining R&D objectives;
formulating R&D questions/statements;
setting up an R&D framework;
selecting fit-for-purpose research methods associated with data collection and analysis;
Selecting fit-for-purpose development methods including supporting research methods.
Reflecting on findings of R&D project.
A broad palette of R&D methods will be introduced and discussed such as literature review, case studies, mixed methods, qualitative comparative analysis, Q-methodology, development methods for decision support systems, digital construction, etcetera.
Furthermore, the course will provide attention to skills and practices such as R&D planning, ethics, and reporting and presenting R&D project.
