Entrepreneurial Engineering
Beschrijving
The course deals with the entrepreneurial traits in the civil engineering domain. Students are introduced with innovation and sustainability transition theories, new economy concepts and business concepts. They are challenged by 2 assignments how to implement a technological innovation in the civil engineering market structure and processes.
The course consists of two cumulative modules:
Analysis module, in which you analyse the success of a retrospective innovation case as a group, informed by innovation and transition theories and tools as your basis and inspired by relevant guest lectures from innovation experts from the civil engineering practice.
Development module, in which you create a business plan for a real-time technological innovation as a group, informed by business model innovation processes, transition and adaptation methods.
Toetsing
Both in the Analysis and Development module, the assignment will be prepared in groups in the form of a report.The assignments make up 40% and 60% respectively for the final grade. The combined grade of the 2 group assignments should be a 6.0 or higher in order to pass. Also both assignments should minimally be a 5.0 to count.
