Infrastructure Asset Management
Beschrijving
Infrastructure Asset Management plays a crucial role in the shift that the built environment continues to perform reliably over time. As society faces growing challenges—aging infrastructure like quay walls, bridges, and buildings; housing shortages; climate change; and the energy transition—the demand for engineers skilled in asset management is rising rapidly.
Asset management is essential for creating a resilient, sustainable, and economically competitive society. Without smart, forward-looking strategies for maintenance and transition, the built environment risks becoming a bottleneck for progress. In this sense, asset management is a key driver. Students in this course learn to understand the processes, systems, and tools that support effective asset management. They explore real-world applications while also developing the critical insight needed to improve or implement these practices in their professional careers.
Following are the key topics:
• General principles of Asset management
• Asset Management Anatomy – vertical and horizontal line of sight
• Modelling of asset management information
• Life Cycle Management for Infrastructure
• Risk quantification and risk management methodologies
• Modelling of ageing infrastructures
• Leading and lagging indicators for infrastructure systems: Dashboarding
