Information Systems for the Construction Industry
Beschrijving
The course, Information Systems for Construction Industry, educates students about the intricate components and processes of information systems. The course emphasis lies on how these systems are used in management settings to enhance decision-making capabilities
This course covers the following key concepts:
1. The influence of Building Information Modeling on 'design for -ty' elements.
2. Semantic Information Modeling.
3. The enhancement of cost and time management through computational strategies.
4. The role of Information Systems in improving asset maintainability.
5. The use of Computer-Aided Safety Planning.
6. The utilization of Information Systems for facilitating sustainable transitions.
7. The impact of digital transformation on construction firms and projects.
This course has a constructivist character, in which the student is guided and encouraged to develop open design knowledge en solutions (openings) using the self-chosen Project of Interest (PoI) as a connective vehicle enabling the Open Design Learning (ODL) response.
