Beschrijving

Modelling PT planning problems. The course consists of three blocks: network and demand analysis, network assignment and design, and service design.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Planning process

  • Network analysis

  • Demand and behavioral modelling

  • Network assignment

  • Network design

  • System resilience

  • Demand and performance analytics

  • Real-time management

  • Cost-benefit analysis

  • Mobility-on-Demand

  • Shared mobility operations

  • Long-distance travel

The course includes lectures and lab tutorials.

Societal aspects of the entire public transport planning process are discussed. The unit will discuss the relations between public transport service design and societal/urban development goals such as accessibility, coverage, sustainability, equity and resilience. Attention is also given to communicating modelling and analysis results to decision makers and implications of mobility service developments.
