Traffic Safety

This course will not be offered in full for the 2025/26 academic year. There will be no educational activities, only exam opportunities. • Models and theories in road safety: road user behaviour, road design, safe systems approaches;

• Traffic safety (accident) modelling;

• Traffic safety and road design for vulnerable road users (cyclists, pedestrians);

• Surrogate safety measures and extreme value theory;

• Road safety in low and middle income countries;

• New technology, automated driving and traffic safety;

• Writing a research proposal.
