Transport Engineering en Optimisation
Beschrijving
This course is structured in lectures and labs. In the lectures, students will learn about mathematical and network optimisation both in its theory and some examples. Then in the labs they will be able to practice what they have learned.
In the exam there will be several exercises and also open questions about optimisation of transport problems.
Some of the contents include:
Scope of problems that are optimisable in transport
Formulating a problem in mathematical programming (decisions, performance of a solution)
Mathematical Programming principles
Networks, their topologies and typical optimisation problems associated
Shortest Path problem
Maximum flow problem
The minimum spanning tree problem
