Transport Modelling and Analysis
Beschrijving
Four-step transport models, output in terms of travel time, congestion, flows and modelling of impact on accessibility, traffic safety and environment.
Demand modelling: trip generation, distribution and modal split using methods such as gravity models and OD estimation.
Assignment problems part I (Uncongested networks and stochastic assignment, Congested networks, equilibrium assignment).
Assignment problems part II (Public transport assignment System optimal assignment and dynamic assignment).
Introduction to Markov decision processes and reinforcement learning. Projects topics and results associated with these models will be shared with students as future impactful research opportunities.
Location planning part I (Facility location problem (service point).
Application: location of charging stations for EVs.)
Location planning part II (Facility location problem (transhipment hubs).
Application: multimodal mobility service, DRT integrated in Fixed Line and Schedule systems).
