Base: Traffic and Transport Engineering

The track base provides students with a solid basis of the fundamentals of traffic and transport engineering including planning and design of traffic and transport networks and infrastructure, transport modelling and analysis, traffic modelling and management, and identifying and assessing the ethical and societal implications of traffic and transport engineering solutions. Ethical aspects are important for engineers, practitioners, and researchers in the sector of traffic and transport engineering. In the track base, relevant ethical aspects and societal impacts of traffic and transport engineering solutions (e.g., safety, environment, health, equity, privacy) and the responsibilities when creating a design or developing models will be addressed across the three different units. In addition, the first unit dedicates two lectures to discuss these aspects in more depth.
