Beschrijving

Master students of Computer and Embedded Systems Engineering can follow CESE5010 as part of their free electives. The industry internship period should be from 10 weeks up to three months, for which you will receive 15 credits. Industry internships longer than 3 months will NOT be approved!

The industry internship should be of sufficient level to be part of your MSc curriculum performed at a company or institute, either in the Netherlands or abroad. An industry internship at a university outside the Netherlands can be accepted. An industry internship at TU Delft will not be accepted. Instead, you can do a research internship CESE5020 at TU Delft.

When carrying out Industry Internship CESE5010 at a company or institute, the following conditions apply:

  • The student participates in the company or institute culture in general, including sharing the company-established balance between on-site and online work.

  • The student takes part in the day-to-day running of the company or institute similar to regular employees. This includes having regular consultation and interaction with colleagues and manager(s), and use of and access to the company-specific resources and tools applicable to the internship. Such resources and tools can be physical/on-site (e.g. measurement equipment, company machines and infrastructure) as well as virtual (online, software tools, databases, ...).

Toetsing

Pass/Fail (no grade)

For the assessment you need to submit (form and guidelines for the reports can be found on Brightspace "Internship CESE")

  • The company assessment form.

  • The TU Delft assessment form.

  • An internship report and an evaluation report.

In order to give the company supervisor sufficient time to read and check the report, yet to ensure that students receive timely feedback and final grade, your company supervisor is asked to assess your internship at the end of your internship period, within two weeks after submission of the internship report, and send the completed assessment form to the TU Delft supervisor. Your TU Delft supervisor needs to assess your internship within two weeks after receiving the assessment of the company supervisor. The TU Delft supervisor will then send the completed TU Delft assessment form and the company supervisor assessment form to the EEMCS Internship Office: internship-eemcs@tudelft.nl.

The assessment forms can be found on Brightspace "Internship CESE".

Step by step:

  • During your internship period you write the internship report.

  • At the end of your internship, you send the internship report to your company supervisor and to the TU Delft supervisor.

  • At the end of your internship, you have up to one week to finalize your evaluation report.

  • You send both reports to the internship office.

  • The company supervisor sends the completed assessment form within 2 weeks after receiving the internship report to the TU Delft supervisor.

  • The TU Delft supervisor sends the completed TU Delft assessment form and the completed company assesment form to the internship office, within 2 weeks after receiving the internship report and the company assessment form.

The final assessment is based on the Company supervisor Assessment Form, the TU Delft supervisor Assessment Form and the Internship Report and will be graded with a pass or fail.

Your mark will be processed as soon as the Internship Office EEMCS has received:

  • Two digital assessment forms signed by the supervisors and send by the TU Delft supervisor to the internship office (you need to provide your supervisors with the assessment forms yourself. You can find them on Brightspace "Internship CESE").

  • A digital copy of both reports sent by you to the internship office.

Repair option: improve and resubmit report.
