BME MSc Thesis

The Master thesis project is the final part of the BME program. Ideally, the project is undertaken in collaboration with a clinical partner (e.g. LUMC, Erasmus MC, VUMC, UMCU, Amsterdam UMC, RdGG, UMCG or MUMC). The student, together with the TUD-BME thesis advisor and the clinical advisor, will define the research project.

The student then prepares the MSc thesis as a project report. The thesis work is evaluated by way of an oral presentation (graduation colloquium) by the candidate and an oral examination in the form of a defence with an MSc examination committee composed according to the rules set out in Guidance Doc 2C on the BME Brightspace page. The examination committee may also include external examiners from research institutes or industrial partners.

If a student undertakes the graduation project at a company, a graduation agreement must be signed: Check the "Master Biomedical Engineering" Brightspace page for further information and for links to the appropriate forms.

All BME students must fill out a BME graduation agreement form at the start of their graduation period in their second year. The template of this form is available on the Brightspace of the BME Master and should be sent to the appropriate people.
