Fundamentals of Biomedical Engineering

In this course, there will be:

1. Online MOOC Lectures, where you will gain foundational knowledge of Medical Device Regulations.

2. Lectures, allowing you to explore various research pathways within Biomedical Engineering and develop an understanding of the field's diverse opportunities and challenges.

3. Workshops, through which you will learn the fundamentals of systematic literature reviews. You will collaborate with your team members to apply best practices while working on your literature review assignment.

4. (i) An individual exam evaluating your understanding of key course topics, (ii) A group assignment in which you will conduct a systematic literature review using PRISMA guidelines, based on a self-defined research question linked to one of the four research areas provided by the course coordinators, and (iii) An individual presentation to share your key findings from the literature review in a 5-minute talk, offering you the opportunity to practice analyzing and communicating research results clearly and effectively.
