Spatial Decision Support Systems (discontinued)

The course provides a basis for spatial analysis in a large area. Students learn how to model and visualize the mutual impact of the environment and their design. Students also learn about solving complex spatial decision problems at a geographic scale, for which they apply various simulation and optimization approaches, among other things. The assignments are related to more sustainable development of the living environment, such as location allocation/planning of wind turbines and solar panels.

The course will consist of a combination of lectures and hands-on labs. Students work in groups of 2-3 on an assignment around a complex spatial decision problem. The individual level of the students is assessed by means of the exam.
