Presenting Project Visions (discontinued)
Beschrijving
The minor Architectural Presentations, BK-MI-198 consists of three successive courses for a total of 15 ECTS. Throughout these courses students explore representation techniques in 2D, 3D and 4D, to communicate architectural projects as they are lived in, moved through and experienced.
Continuing on their chosen case study project from the first part of the minor, in this second part of the minor the students shift towards a 3D representation of the project.
Students will focus on the material and evocative qualities of the physical model. The model is approached as a semi-independent character rather than a literal miniature building. Working on scale, students in small groups are translating the case studies into models that are both abstract and recognizable with the aim to communicate the character of the design idea.
Toetsing
The minor consists of a series of integrated exercises which are all assessed separately. All these assignments are assessed by the requested presentation products and guided by an oral presentation.
These are consequently:
- 2D drawing (BK7140)
- 3D model (BK7141)
- 4D film (BK7142)
- Pecha Kucha slide show presentation (BK7142)
The tutors make the assessment based on:
- completeness of requested products
- readability of the representation products
- quality of the representation products
- creativity and coherence in the representation products
- relevance of the produced products in relation to the studied project
- coherence between oral presentation and representation products
The marks for the various exercises are translated to the grades per course as follows:
- BK7140 - 3 ECTS : 2D drawing
- BK7141 - 3 ECTS : 3D model
- BK7142 - 9 ECTS : 4D moving image + Pecha Kucha slide show presentation
