Beschrijving

During the second quarter, students design and build a fragment of the building or the interior on different scale levels (1:10/1:5 and sometimes even 1:1) based on the outcome of their space or display designed in Q1. This design project (BK7065 Spaces of Display 2) runs parallel to a Tool course (BK7067 Tools for Spaces of Display 2). The workshops and lectures in this quarter make a substantial contribution to the theme of the project.

Q1

During the first quarter, students design a small exhibition space for a carefully selected artifact and its users at a specific location in a city (BK7064 Spaces of Display 1). The Tools Course (BK7066 Tools for Spaces of Display 1) focuses on specific skills that contribute to a coherent design project. Students learn how to work within the complex combination of these 'tools'. Various workshops and lectures focus on the position of the designer, the relationship with the city, the design of a space within the field of the exhibition branch, and the analysis of reference projects based on relevant themes. Based on a thorough analysis of the location in the city, the choice is made for the artifact/product and a specific user group. This allows the possibility to explore the full range of related interventions.

Q2

During the second quarter, students design and build a fragment of the building or the interior on different scale levels (1:10/1:5 and sometimes even 1:1) based on the outcome of their space or display designed in Q1. This design project (BK7065 Spaces of Display 2) runs parallel to a Tools course (BK7067 Tools for Spaces of Display 2). The workshops and lectures in this quarter make a substantial contribution to the theme of the project.

This minor consists of 2 quarters (both of 15 ECs); each with separate content.
