Applied Sciences Research Project

The student participates in a research group - different from the department where the thesis project is done, preferably outside the faculty of Applied Sciences or at a different university or organisation - and performs experimental and/or theoretical work on an actual research theme.

The size and scope of the project can be chosen by mutual agreement, and varies from 1.5-2 months (9-12 ec). The project is combined with a course (3-6 ec) on a related topic.

Final mark is obtained on basis of the learning outcomes ("study goals"); see the Applied Sciences thesis grading scheme.

The final mark is established by at least two scientific staff members: a) the supervisor of the research project; b) by a professor of a different department (preferably an instructor of the MSc programme of the student).
