Beschrijving
The MSc2 International Design Studio of BordersenTerritories (BenT) will focus on the relation between architectural research and architectural design. The studio will deal with the research topics of the BenT group, which can be summarized in the following main components: (1) MEGA-MICROS, namely the relationship between the extremely large and small scale of architecture; (2) NEW GROUND, investigating the relationship between new land reclamation projects and architecture; (3) ZONES OF CONFLICT, investigating the entanglements of milieus created by conflicts of (soiled) substances.
The course consists of three parallel studios focussing on different locations changing yearly, while the research structure will remain unchanged.
The studios will be offered as cooperation with other universities and (when possible) kick-started by an on-site workshop. The course will also offer a series of lectures on studio-related themes.
