Beyond 3D Computer Visualisation

This course is called Beyond 3D. It means that the content of the course goes beyond the traditional 3D visualisation and enters the realm of advanced modelling, texturing and rendering which can be found in the film and gaming industry.

The topic is the visualisation of a quote. The quote can be chosen from a book, a speech or from a song. The complexity of the task is to translate the essence of the quote into an image or a virtual environment communicating this essence, a process which also can be found in the visualisation of an architectural design idea. The visualisation can be a single high resolution poster or a VR environment. You use advanced software like Maya, Mudbox, Substance Painter and the Unreal game engine.

The result can vary from medieval castles attacked by dragons to cityscapes floating through space and everything in between and beyond.

In weekly sessions specific themes will be covered and the corresponding techniques will be practiced. When you have successfully completed this course you are adept at independently implementing computer applications for the effective visualisation of any idea or concept.
