Computational Physics
Beschrijving
Student work in groups of 2-3 students on three different computational physics projects during this course: molecular dynamics, (quantum) Monte-Carlo simulations, and a final project of own choice.
The course projects are close to the research level.
Toetsing
Assessment is based in the results of the three projects, consisting of a paper (first two projects) or oral report (final project), and the simulation code as well as development history (including a grade for the weekly feedback).
The grade of each project is rounded to two digit accuracy. The final grade is then computed from these grades, with the first project counting 40%, and the second and third 30% each.
In case of an overall failing grade, students can agree with the instructors on an additional project that will serve as a retake.
