Acoustic, Elastic and Electromagnetic Waves

Introduction to elasticity theory; acoustic waves in fluids; elastic waves in solids; electromagnetic waves; wave propagation in heterogeneous media; Fraunhofer diffraction; Fresnel diffraction: Waveguides, Fourier optics.

Two oral exams; one on acoustics and elastodynamics, and one on electromagnetics. During the oral exam on electromagnetics, the programming assignment and the computer demonstrations will also be examined.
