Overview of the historic and current scientific challenges and specialized topics in the field of reservoir simulation. Topics depend on current research activities of teaching staff involved and may involve (aspects of) discretization and gridding, linear solvers and preconditioning, (nonlinear) solution strategies, thermal simulation, compositional simulation, coupled flow and mechanics , model-based optimization, data assimilation and uncertainty quantification.
