Geo-Energy Engineering Applications
Beschrijving
The main purpose of this course is to understand the physics and modelling of transport phenomena through porous media. The student learns the basics of multiphase flow, mass and heat transport and fluid-rock interactions across the scales. Besides, they learn how to formulate the relevant transport processes mathematically and how to design a consistent numerical scheme to simulate it for real systems. Lab experiments will provide insight into the physics of geo-energy engineering applications. The integrated experimental, analytical and numerical approaches will give the students the necessary tools to predict system performance.
Toetsing
Formative assessment on intermediate assignments.
