Geo-resources 2.0: towards the future
Beschrijving
This course is a part of the minor 'Geo-resources for the future: Social, Economic, Environmental and Political Challenges'. It builds upon the other modules of this minor, being 'Geo-resources 1.0: past and present' (AESB3110) and 'Political Economy of geo-resources' (AESB311).
This course is designed around five themes:
The Global Resource Nexus: linkages between (supply and demand) of the different geo-resources, scarcity of those resources, and climate change.
Global consequences of the resource nexus, focusing on geo-politics, security and strategy.
Licence to operate, considering corporate responsibility and local acceptability for specific geo-resources.
Energy transition and climate change.
Circular economy, covering aspects like urban mining, recycling and certification.
