Beschrijving

Learn how to model non-linear structural/solid mechanics problems using Finite Element Method (FEM).

Computational methods, particularly FEM, are important tools to assess the efficiency and performance of materials en structures in the field of aerospace, mechanical, civil and biomedical engineering. Reduced performance and failure of materials en structures are mostly due to the effects of different nonlinearities such as buckling, yielding, damage and fracture. A combination of theoretical and practical knowledge in non-linear FEM are valuable skills needed to address such problems in industry and academia.

Upon finishing this course, you will have the skill set needed to solve various non-linear structural/solid mechanics problems using FEM. Both the theoretical and the practical aspects will be covered. A free FEM package will be used for practical applications.
