Space Engineering Detailed Design Project

This is a detailed design project, performed in small groups of a subsystem, subassembly or component of a spacecraft. It links to one of the four domain-specific profile courses for Space Engineering. It is supported with a few lectures, general instructions and guidance from a tutor.

The assessment will be based on the final project report and a personal reflection. The grade for this course is a pass or a fail. A rubric (shared with the students at the start of the project) will be used to assess items which are insufficient, sufficient or good. All items in the rubric should be graded with at least sufficient to receive a pass for the course. The difference between sufficient and good is only for formative feedback; good items cannot compensate insufficient items. In case one or more items are insufficient, this will clearly be communicated to the group and the group will have the opportunity to fix these aspects within a reasonable timeframe agreed upon with the tutor.
